Description
The Konica POP, also known as the C35 EFJ in Japan, is one of the most iconic compact film cameras of the 1980s. First released in 1982, it became famous for its bright, playful colors and super simple, no-nonsense operation. This particular version comes in a striking red finish and is preserved in excellent, fully working condition, along with its original case and lens cap.
The camera features a 36mm f/4 fixed-focus lens, perfect for casual everyday photography. It offers a single shutter speed of 1/125 sec, with manual film advance via a side lever. Exposure is controlled by a CdS cell light meter that lights up a LED when there isn’t enough light for a proper shot.
The built-in flash pops up manually and delivers reliable results in low-light situations. There’s also a dedicated button for close-up flash shots, which automatically adjusts the aperture. The ISO setting is manually selectable, with options for 100, 200, or 400 ISO films.
One of its most charming details is the folding metal rewind lever, hidden on the underside of the camera — a unique feature for its time. The flash is powered by two AA batteries.
