Released around 1999, the Pentax Espio 105G (also known as the IQZoom 105G) is a compact 35mm camera from the tail end of the film era, built with the casual shooter in mind but packed with smart features that still hold up today.
Its SMC Pentax 38–105mm zoom lens offers plenty of flexibility — from wide shots to portraits — with an aperture range from f/4.5 to f/11 and shutter speeds from 1s to 1/360s, all handled automatically via programmed autoexposure.
The infrared autofocus system is fast and accurate, with focus lock and even an infinity mode for landscapes. The built-in flash has multiple modes including auto, red-eye reduction, slow-sync, and fill flash.
It supports DX-coded film (ISO 25–3200) and defaults to ISO 25 if non-DX film is loaded. Film loading and rewind are fully automatic — just drop in a roll, close the back, and you’re good to go.
Powered by a single CR123A battery (good for ~15 rolls), and weighing just 240g, this camera is lightweight, intuitive, and ideal for travel, everyday shooting, or anyone starting their film photography journey.
