Canon AF35M II, also known as the Autoboy 2, was released in 1983 as an upgraded version of Canon’s first autofocus 35mm compact. This model refined everything that made the original a success — faster autofocus, smoother film handling, and an improved electronic program shutter for beautifully balanced exposures.
At its core is a Canon 38mm f/2.8 lens with 4 elements in 4 groups, delivering sharp, vibrant images with great contrast. The triangulation autofocus system uses a near-infrared beam to ensure accurate focus, while prefocus is available by pressing the shutter button halfway — a feature that makes capturing decisive moments much easier.
The film loading and advance system is completely automatic: simply align the film leader at the mark and press the shutter to advance to frame 1. The built-in motorized film advance and rewind make shooting fast and intuitive, while a self-timer and pop-up flash add flexibility in low-light conditions.
