Description

The Agfa Optima Sensor Electronic 335 is a compact 35mm viewfinder camera introduced in the late 1970s as the entry model of Agfa’s Sensor Electronic line. Its clean rectangular body makes it smaller than many classic compacts of the era, easy to carry and quick to handle. It features a 40mm f3.5 Agnatar lens with three-zone focusing and a stopping range down to f22, offering reliable sharpness and a classic rendering that suits street, travel, and everyday documentary shooting.

Exposure is fully automatic, with the camera selecting aperture and shutter speed electronically between 1/30 and 1/300 second. The Paratronic shutter system ensures precise timing, while the CdS meter built into the lens barrel reads light directly from the scene. A red warning light inside the viewfinder alerts you when exposure may be incorrect, and bright-line frame guides with parallax marks help with accurate composition at close distances. Film rewind is cleverly integrated into the advance lever mechanism, eliminating the need for a separate rewind crank.

This camera requires 3 × PX625 1.5V batteries to operate, as both the shutter and the light meter are electronically controlled. Batteries are not included.

This particular unit is in good working condition and comes with its original case. Both the camera body and the case show visible signs of use consistent with age. There is one cosmetic defect that should be noted. A section of the plastic ring surrounding the lens is chipped, as visible in the photos. This does not affect functionality, optics, or shooting performance in any way and remains purely aesthetic.
