Canon Autoboy Lite Quartz Date (released in 1985) is a fully automatic 35mm film camera designed for simplicity and convenience while still delivering sharp results. Equipped with a 35mm f/3.5 lens (3 elements in 3 groups), it produces clean, well-exposed images with minimal effort.
Focusing is handled by a triangulation system with a near-infrared beam, ensuring accurate autofocus. For close-up photography, manual focus is possible down to 45 cm. The bright viewfinder includes parallax correction marks for close-ups, an in-focus indicator, and warnings for near-distance and camera shake.
Exposure is controlled electronically through a programmed auto system, offering shutter speeds from 1/40 to 1/250s depending on the available light. The built-in mechanical flash (Guide No. 9 at ISO 100) activates automatically in low-light situations, making it a reliable companion day or night.
The Quartz Date version adds a date imprinting function on the film back, allowing you to mark your photos with year, month, day, or time. Film loading, advance, and rewind are all motorized, keeping operation fast and easy.
Powered by two AAA batteries and weighing just 250g, the Autoboy Lite QD is portable, practical, and fun to use. This copy is in good working condition, with some visible aesthetic wear on the body, but the lens remains clean and clear, ready to shoot.
